The ad happened right at the start of football season, the most important and prosperous sports season and when kids are coming back to school and needing shoes, new wardrobes, etc. Pretty sure it was gonna happen.

I doubt that the ad had anything at all to do with NIKE’s market value. Not this quickly.

correlated.

And Trump claimed

Nike is getting absolutely killed with anger and boycotts,” the president tweeted

Apparently Nike is not getting killed with anger and boycotts. Whether due to the Kap ad or school starting doesn't matter.

So many hot takes about Nike stock right after the commercial was released.

Those people are nowhere to be seen.

I think it’s just a bit asinine to put a former unsuccessful backup quarterback who can’t get hired as your face.

Wouldn’t you want, I dunno, winners?

What’s next, making Ryan Leaf the spokesman?

It's shocking how little people know about the stock market and market capitalization. It was overblown when people posted about market cap after the ad and it's overblown when posting about it now.

Exactly, that shite was ridiculous. Remember that guy on the MSB that said he advised all of his clients to sell the stock because it's best days were behind it?

The ad campaign turned out to be brilliant

They got a ton of free exposure with their logo flooding social media with all of the memes

They probably could have foreseen some of that

I compare it to the coke campaign of putting names on their bottles and everyone posting on social media

Enormous amount of free brand exposure

It's been pretty funny. When it was down $3, stock price was the only evidence the anti-Kaep side needed to prove that America hates Kaep and that this was a terrible decision by Nike.

Now that it's rebounded to higher than pre-commercial days, and sold a significant amount of online merchandise in the meantime... we need more evidence before we declare Nike the winner.

Why is every news article about proving Trump wrong? Why does Trump being wrong always have to be the focal point of every story? These people are obsessed

Citation needed

Also, I doubt blacks and Hispanics alone would account for this huge surge. Nike is a global brand after all.

I’m guessing these numbers came from Arthur Andersen and Enron approved accounting methodologies.

So due to Trumps economy Nike is doing well

So are a lot of companies. There is zero correlation one can make from this ad campaign vs their market share. For all you know they would have surged to 7 Billion had they not run this campaign.
