They are trying to force people and businesses to go all electric too. They are too dumb to realize that nearly half of NY's electric power is made with gas. The efficiency of using gas for heat and hot water is about as good as it gets. Generating electric power with gas and then using electricity to heat homes and hot water is outright stupid and costs the homeowner 5 or 6 times as much.
It's about control. Wood, charcoal, propane tanks are all portable and you can be self-sufficient. Electric, they can cut your power.

I have a wood fired oven I built in my back yard here in Louisiana. Hopefully I'm dead before they try this here. There is zero chance I stop using it or tear it down. Nor will I pay any kind of tax/fees to use it.

The people that come up with this bullshite are pearl clutching, forehead dabbing, couch fainting, addicted to being offended, miserable, horrible, repugnant pieces of shite human beings.
They are a scourge on society. I bet I could walk through each and every one of their houses or apartments or sewers, wherever they live, and point out things in their dwelling that is a threat to the environment and tell them to get rid of it and they would in turn, shite their pants and scream bloody murder.
How I wish these people would take a fricking dirt nap and get off the planet. Life on Earth would be so much better without these meddling, mentally ill refuse.
