Effective immediately, members of the service should not take any enforcement action against any individual who possesses a hypodermic needle, even when it contains residue of a controlled substance,” a directive to NYPD commanders obtained by the New York Post read.

We're almost back to full late 70's mode.

Part of the process of the greatest city in the world destroying itself.

Weird way of wording that, what action is taken if someone has a hypodermic needle that doesn’t have illegal substance in it?

Love it. We need to hit absolute rock bottom for any reasonable people to gain power.

The way I read it, mere act of possessing a needle is decriminalized by this. Even if it’s clear it was used for illicit purposes previously.

Possessing drugs to put in a needle wasn’t.

NYC is going back to what you saw in 70's Scorsese movies. And that isn't good.

It's a good thing. People need to be reminded what happens when the ideologues take control
