The governor scoffed at the notion that the announcements were timed to take place just ahead of election day.

Well the announcements were just timed to when the project was completed.

......just so happens the project was completed right in time for election day

Any politician would take advantage of that regardless. If Vitter was Governor he would be cutting the ribbon too. If they didn’t they would be foolish.

The better question is whose vote would be swayed by this.

Only in Louisiana would the opening of an interstate exit be celebrated.

Coincidence? I think not!

I have used this exit 3 times in my life...all LSU football related.

The "delay" that you imagined was because the BREC football field next to this exit and between the NB and SB lanes had to be re- done before the project was complete.
Now you know the Rest of the Story.

LOL - I’m assuming you’re being sarcastic. The thing could have opened in July.

I thought they were closing Washington exit. why was this even done????

Good question.

The original plan I had heard was to make a change to Dalrymple that would allow someone to get off there and have easy access to Washington St.

Obviously that didn’t happen.

S/B I-110 traffic will still be crossing multiple lanes of traffic to take the Washington Street exit. Idiots

The DOTD punch list just so happened to get delayed due to administrative issues. It's just a coincidence!

Ironic that he uses corruption to boast his accomplishments right before election day

Didn’t the DOTD usage report show some absurdly low number of uses of that exit when they put the counter on it?

I see you’re a racist.

Dalrymple area residents will make sure this doesn't happen.

Not that they are afraid of potential exiters though.

I have never seen one car exit the Washington ramp

I see it all the time - merging from I-110 to exit at Washington.

But traffic will still suck.

I traveled south on I-110 earlier around 3:00 pm on a Friday and since traffic was backed up I counted the cars that took the Terrace exit. From the time I could see the exit until I passed it a grand total of one vehicle exited. One.

I did the same at 4:15. Zero cars.

Whoever thought this would make a difference is an idiot.
