I'm Looking to get a new pair of cowboy boots for myself. I am wanting an ostrich skin boot. In my searching I ran across this Tecovas brand. They claim to be made in Mexico and sell direct to consumer. Anyone have any experience with these or a similar site.

TECOVAS BOOTS

I like Lucchese, but I'm not really trying to spend $800 on pair of boots. Also, the point with the Brand i posted about were that they claim to not have retail markup so you get high quality boot for cheap.

Tony Lama are the boots I'm leaning towards now, but wanted to get some info on direct to consumer boots, if anyone had any.

Lucchese

This... just spend the extra money and be done. Speaking of that, im thinking it's about that time to throw another pair into the rotation.

Biggest thing is to decide on whether or not you want full quill or smooth then go from there. Bunch of colors and styles, full is gonna be a tad more expensive. Can't recommend lucchese enough. That being said I only have the ones that are made in Texas. I think they do have some manufacturing in Mexico as well.

I would never buy a pair of boots without trying them on if you've never worn that brand before.

There's less expensive Lucchese out there and are still quality.
I have a pair of these that I wear to work everyday and picked them up for about $300
Shane's

And then I have a pair of these for when I want a nicer boot
Augustus

I really need to get a pair of black boots but just can't decide on one I like.

I have a few pairs of ariats already. Looking for more of nicer/dressy casual boot. I have always worn boots, but i never owned a nice pair of boots, besides the old justin lizard skins my dad gave me years ago.

out of all those, the wyatt pair looks the best and they're still kind of ugly. For about three fiddy, it had better be a lot nicer looking pair than that.

I like the Wyatt boot. That's it.

There is a boot maker in Marfa that puts out some great, custom boots. I can't think of the name to save my life.

ETA: Cobra Rock Boot Company It looks like they aren't making cowboy boots anymore though.

I've looked at them online and they make a few that look really good. Just hard to pull the trigger on a boot that you can't try on.
