Are the online values negotiable? I have tried to deal with two dealerships and they won't budge off of the internet price.

Most likely their lowest price. They know they beat competition so they won't budge

You might want to try this on the money board.

I've found that you wont get them to budge more than a couple hundred dollars. Their first offer is usually much better than what you get with talking to a salesperson in the dealership.

If you're getting them to respond online you're doing better than I am. I hate the "come in and test drive" line before they'll give me a price.

I can order pizza online, I should be able to do the same with a car.

I called said I would take the one in the ad. The salesman stated the price was wrong and no one had changed it yet. So I went to their webpage same price same car. I printed out 4 pages of that car and the price from 4 websites. I was told oh that was a mistake

This. Where you get to have fun negotiating here is the trade in value (if you have one).

But I highly recommend going through internet sales. You usually get the best number the quickest. You can maybe get a few hundred extra off.

I've never had issues with dealers trying to bait and switch or say the price is a mistake. I've dealt mainly with Houston dealers.

ETA: Another big thing is finding out what discounts are included in the online price and if you qualify for all of them.

Everything is always negotiable, that being said they typically advertise a pretty solid price knowing what the market price is out among the competitors.

I have never bought one online but I can't imagine why they would set a non negotiable price when everyone thinks of negotiating when buying vehicles.

My BIL was negotiating a vehicle online and told the salesman what his number was to buy the vehicle. Guy said no. A week later they dropped the price to what my BIL offered. I don't understand why the salesman didn't contact my BIL back.

He went to the same dealership a month later to get a car my sister wanted. I heard him mention the issue he had with the salesman about the online car...salesman on the lot said "oh well vehicle prices are so volatile and change day to day" sounded like a bunch of BS to me.

I bought my current CPO vehicle online, after it was listed as "recently reduced" and they knocked another $1200 off.

in my experience they wouldn't negotiate when i made a call to them, but when i went in the dealership they did after telling me on the phone that was the rock bottom price that was online.
