A judge can sentence you to anything if it is written into the statue, but does not unless it is so horrific or you are just an idiot in court.

Not doing what a judge asks is a great way to create significantly more problems for yourself.

Well if this is true, the judge is gay.

Always give up your seat for the judge.

You sound like a winner.

I just do not believe this was a first offense or issue in the judicial system.
There is a backstory that somebody is not discussing.
Also on the first offense I think in Texas you get a suspension of license for a year. So I bet she was caught driving without a license plus this, add on the Driving without insurance and contempt of court.
I do not believe for a minute that this was at home incident.

I know, I lived in TX for over 15 years
just pointing out to those who claimed there was "no way" a judge could possibly sentence that to a 1st time offender
it's obviously not completely unprecedented
still think the OP is not telling 100% the truth here, or has borrowed this story from someone else he knows, applied to him just to have a Friday afternoon thread

Everyone is saying how this is fake, but I can think of one way it seems very plausible.
She got her DUI with the kid in the car.
Edit for grammar.

Maybe you should think of a little white lie to tell your son. 10 is a little young to deal with mommy in jail.
Posted on 2/10/17 at 2:45 pm to darnol91
The endangerment charge would have sent her to jail immediately probably.
She would have not just been given a DUI.

If you get a DUI, it doesn't automatically mean it is illegal to drink at home
She was out on a zero alcohol bond and a condition was to either have the in home device or the interlock.
She had to blow between certain hours and you are right, there was a big gap in the middle of the day, this is when she pressed her luck and lost.
