And? You buy that just because management said so? Of course they don't want to cause a mass exodus by announcing a second round is coming.

Just have the bean counters steal some more money from Uncle Sam. Problem solved.

Sounds like you deal with it, not being harsh, just seems like reality these days.

Do what you can to keep your position, but get your resume updated.

No. If they did further layoffs with our team it’d be impossible for the team to continue. I don’t think they’d do that based on several reasons including their touting our team on the all hands call and all the systematic changes that would come if our team suddenly left.
Trust me, I don’t trust upper management at all. They said NO layoffs In January

Clean up your resume and at least see what is out there. Best be prepared even if you are content.
I always advise employees on that when layoffs are coming. I follow the same practice. My resume is current and LinkedIn contacts are current as well.

Come on, you should know better than that
You are nothing to them. Just keep that resume updated and start putting out feelers

The media allows the administration to sugar coat their constant lies about inflation and the economy. We are at 30%+ higher inflation on groceries, gas and electricity than 2021. And 10% minimum higher costs on everything else. That’s removing the 2% per year Fed inflation target. And there’s no more free money businesses can borrow to keep all those employees on staff. The economy will correct itself whether it takes months or years.

My wife is a L&D nurse. Prior to this month, they were always offering unlimited OT and $25-$50/hr bonuses to people who could come work extra shifts.
Now, they are canceling prof dev classes so they don't have to pay the nurses to sit there for a couple of hours. OT has to be double-approved by layers of management...and the bonuses are next to nothing.

I am trying to look at the silver lining that I wasn’t one of the ones laid off. It’ll suck not getting the increase or bonus this year though. I really have enjoyed working for this company and they allowed me to move a year back to be closer to family and be a remote employee. Basically my work/life balance is too good for me to want to leave now and i do enjoy the work.
That’s a pretty damn bright silver lining.

Any suggestions? My thoughts and prayers are out to anyone who did get laid off.
Suggestions for what? Are you trying to leave because other people got let go?
My division of my company just went through a RIF. All of us managers were sitting around on a call commiserating and then it hit us like a ton of bricks, what we had to do, while uncomfortable, was being complained about from the comfort of our jobs. The people we just let go had comfort of slight severance and benefits.

however, my salary was frozen for a year and not eligible for the yearly bonus.
Yeah start looking. Chances are you are safe, but the goodwill of the company is gone no matter how they spin it.

Dust off the resume and be ready to jump at opportunity.
The company had one round of layoffs they likely aren’t done.
The silver lining as you make more than those laid off and you still have your job.
Of course the execs over you likely didn’t freeze their salary and forgo bonuses. If they did I’d still be ready to leave if need be. If they didn’t I’d be active on the look out.
Company has bad leadership if the first move isn’t a cut to exec level pay and bonuses.

Do you mind sharing where the healthcare provider is located?
Posted on 2/19/24 at 8:01 am to LSUNWO1988
Is this healthcare company owned by private equity?

He might could not bitch but it would be foolish not to have resume ready and at least be fielding offers.
