I am befuddled at the notion that someone has the ability to live on his own and chooses not to.

Good idea. When Hollywood turns it into a movie, who do you want to play you?

Moved out last summer at age 20 and i was itching to get out before then. I couldnt imagine another 4 years. I pay for everything

Im not gonna be one to call you a weirdo for not moving out already, but you gotta know it throws up red flags for people (chicks) when youre out of school and in a position to pay for your own place, but dont.

My mom moved out when I was 15...moved back in when I was 18. I moved out a month later. She moved out again a few months later, so I moved back in to the house. A 19 year old kid should not have a huge house with a pool in a very secluded area...and no morals. When I was 22, she wanted to move back in again, and my now wife and I moved out that day and got a place.

Your girl was kind to tell you the truth.

Get out of your parents house and act like a grown man until you are one.

Yup, the people saying 18 and telling you to man up either
A) went to college their parents paid for, stayed in a dorm their parents paid for, and moved back home during the summer
B) went to college their parents paid for, and got an apartment their parents paid for
C) worked and paid for everything themselves (<5%)

I went to LSU... I know how many kids lived "on their own" under their parents' allowance, and did the whole I'm-a-poor-college-student act. They were everywhere

Left home at 17 and never looked back, and yes I paid my way thru college (a nice scholarship helped).

Your early 20s are the best time at any mans life, I cannot fathom why anyone would willingly live with their parents

Get your own place, find a roommate if necessary and get busy living

Good lord

this was me at 18, although I had scholarships

and I moved back home every summer

I wish I could have moved back home for a year or 2 after college to save more money

I wouldn't want to live with my parents right now (im 20), but i can see how some my age or a little older would.

not everyone is a big partier slob type.
