Or was putting his weapon away, maybe in the safe the room supplies, and he accidentally shot himself.

What room was it in? Do they say, or just clean it up and rent it out again? Would you want to stay in it?

Remember the game warden killed by a boat launch on Pearl River a year or so ago? Everyone was sure poachers shot him, until the investigation revealed it was an accidental discharge of his own shotgun.

But why would a suicide need to be investigated?

To make sure it's not a suicide, plus he was a police chief. Sad story.

Suicides are investigated as a homicide until its proven it was a suicide.

Damn... Just saw him on the news the other day about the freeze in Morgan City...

So did I. Terrible.

Damn, more people commit suicide over gambling issues than any other addiction I know. There are 3 people from my small hometown that I or my family knew personally over the years who killed themselves over a gambling addiction.

Not saying that's the reason here, but since he was at a casino when he did it, that's a logical assumption. Glad I hate to gamble. Like flushing money down the toilet to me.

Have also seen lives ruined by gambling. And it is an addiction I just can't understand.

That may not be the case here with the chief. But I've seen several people mess up their lives and the lives of those who loved them with gambling addictions.

Hell, I work too hard for my money to just keep pissing it away. A casino can be fun but once I drop even a few bucks the fun ends for me.

It was ferry landing in St Franisville, and it was suicide too

I know a little about it. Some people can be great with money in every other aspect of their lives but can go into a casino and lose a paycheck in an hour. I had a friend who would brag about winning 2-5k every month or so...but was always broke. I've heard of parents going thru kids 200k trust funds in a few years...on video poker. Crazy how bad some people get with it.

Whatever, .......the first story was that poachers shot him, now clearly accidental. I have some confirmed info that prob should not be posted on a public forum that proves beyond a reasonable doubt to me, but whatever you are comfortable with believing .

There is nothing you heard that wasn't investigated. I don't really care what you believe but posting your opinion as a fact is just wrong.
