I'm not military but I've seen few posts about NG being joked about. Does the NG get looked down upon?
They tend to get looked down upon by active duty/former active duty members for being weekend warriors.

That shite ended along time ago. There are guardsman who have more deployments then their active duty counterparts.

Imo, number of deployments have never had anything to do with it. It's more about the drills that are scheduled a few weekends a month for guard vs. the 6am-5pm Monday-Friday schedule for most active duty.

Piece of shite post and one of the most ignorant I've seen on here in a while.

Wait?

Eddie is stolen valor?

I remember him being a pt patient when I worked at ospt back in 2009 and he claimed he was sf

Now that I think about it. He seemed kinda young to be medically retired and was having muscular problems but no amputations or anything.

This was five/six years ago.

He's probably fatter now

And yes he was walking when I saw him back in 09.

His degree pursuing at a&m sounded fishy. It all makes sense now

All lies. The guy is a habitual pathological liar, has faked everything from his work history to even claiming he had cancer. He's fricking worthless.

He's in the Air Force so it's kinda cute that he makes jokes about actually serving.

Guardsmen don't serve, they are accessories. Cool to have around, but not necessary

Nope. Not necessary at all. Until you try to fight a war. Or respond to a disaster. Or do anything.
I've spent time Active and Guard. I'm not any more loyal to either branch. But, the only reason anyone puts down the Guard is because they know a part timer can do the same job equally as well if not better. It all boils down to insecurity.

I was Active Duty Army for 20 years and never deployed. I was lucky enough to be in the right place each time where they didn't need me or couldn't get me.

Does that make me an impersonator?

I know Guard guys that have deployed 3-4 times.

They do bring outside experience, that's often valuable, to say they do the same job equally well though is absolutely absurd.

You consider that to be lucky? I consider that to be a coward and/or shitbag.

Unless he is forging a DD Form 214, this will be hard to do with serious employers.

It is absolutely not absurd. Do you have a frame of reference for your statement? I've deployed with Active Duty and worked with the Guard as well as deploying with the Guard and working with Active Duty. There was no difference. In fact, often the Guard performed better.
You can argue all you want but I've seen it. I've put my life in the hands of both many times. I never felt less or more safe with one or the other.

This whole conversation is dumb though. People think what they think and I'm not going to change any minds.

I don't know what's more gay...People who dress up and try to pass as veterans, or the veterans and civilians who make websites dedicated to calling out posers....

If you think it's the latter, then your a-hole sucks more dick than the former.
