So him resigning wasn’t enough? People had to harass his wife’s employer into firing her too?
People that take the time to get a person fired because they don’t hold the same opinion deserve to rot in hell
I guess he needs to find a way to deal with it. I mean, it's God's will.

Texas is now officially a Blue State.

Sure these services are provided under normal and most all circumstances. My power and cable were out for almost two weeks when hurricane Sally came through. I prepared by gassing up both vehicles, Had 10 gallons of fuel on reserve. Sharpened my chains for saw and had plenty of mix and bar oil. I filled up two bathtubs with water beforehand. Generator ready. Filled up propane tank to cook and heat with if needed. Who would have thought that the wood I cut, spit and stacked from THAT storm would be keeping my family warm this winter. When you see extreme weather events 10 days in advance, get off your arse and prepare. Thank you dad/ grandad for teaching me to just BASIC survival skills. Why is this so hard these days?

I love the dudes that probably skimmed the OP and went “hell yeah they are roasting those Starbucks drinking snowflakes again!!” And ran to say he was right, without using two seconds of brain power to see how insanely stupid that post is

Any indication as to how his local dipshit municipality in particular is responsible for what happened with the grid across virtually the entirety of Texas? He won't score any points for grammar or persuasion, but do we know how much leverage his local government had in this situation?

Most people do similar, it’s the reasons 1000’s aren’t dead. People are bitching about paying 350 a month for electricity, and having incompetent people running the system. Lots of people can cut down wood errrrrrr tough man. Wtf lol.

First statements. “People are responsible for their actions”
Second, “ please don’t hold me responsible for my actions”

So if that's how he feels? I wonder how he feels when they bust into his home and suck up his heat and water? He can't deny them since they came up with a way to provide for themselves of their family!

You should have a baseline preparedness for situations like this.
Relying on the government, the energy companies, or the shifty infrastructure is a huge mistake you should never make.
At least, you won’t make it again.
Always be prepared.

did he copy paste that from the poli board?

Hes too irrational to be in office. If you can't stand people complaining about freezing, then you are an idiot. Life is hard and its h arder when your stupid.

There is nothing else to do in that shithole of a town, might as well rant.

The electric company provides a SERVICE, you’re charged accordingly to what you USE. Not having a emergency plan isn’t on the electric company......ITS ON YOU.

I will go back to sourcing my own water and electricity if I can stop paying taxes.

Yep. And infrastructure costs money. You can't have low bills AND great infrastructure. You can't have great roads AND social welfare programs.

That dude deserves to lose his job because of stupidity.
He clearly explained that he is unemployed, so what job are you suggesting he lose?
We need to stop the practice of getting butthurt about something someone says, then costing them their jobs. We need everybody working. Do you really want him sitting on the porch all day, enjoying the purple drank, and living off of the efforts of other people?
Can you tell the other idiots to stop going after people's jobs at the next meeting? TIA

You are forced to pay into a regulated monopoly that is subsidized by the govt all the while they keep charging more while letting their infrastructure crumble
If it was capitalism the electric companies would have to compete for your business
