Do you boomers seriously agree with this clown?

I am not waiting for some rescue me, I wanting the power or the water I pay for to turn on.

God forbid the mayor has to do his job

The government knows they can’t manage these situations and they even use our tax dollars telling you that you should prepare for when they can’t.

Here is the link.

How is expecting a service you pay for considered a handout?

Is receiving medical care you pay for a handout as well?

The house I paid for—-is that considered a handout because I didn’t build it myself?

How is a person to supply water or electricity to their home?

Nothing about what this guy said is true. The things he’s talking about are established items that separate us from 3rd world countries. We can’t proclaim America as the golden standard of civilization and then patriot stuff like this at the same time.

I get where he is coming from but why pay taxes if the government won’t provide you basic services during times of hardship or disaster?

You should have a baseline preparedness for situations like this.

Relying on the government, the energy companies, or the shifty infrastructure is a huge mistake you should never make.

the power is out because of retards like this guy and other government officials didn't prepare. People are without service not because of demand, but because they let stations freeze when we knew about this weather 2 weeks ago.

So him resigning wasn’t enough? People had to harass his wife’s employer into firing her too?

No. For him to learn, he must be destroyed completely. The fact that his wife didn't leave him IMMEDIATELY proves her complicity.

He needs to be destitute and living on the streets alone for him to be worthy of a possiblity of a chance of redemption. That's how you know we're nice and civilized. We might give him a chance to show contrition or move past this incident.

I really hate that this is where society is at these days.

BTW, the first bit was sarcasm; just FYI.

The problem here is that some people think literally everything now, including the services they freaking pay for, is a handout.

These people won't stop until everything you don't produce with your own hands is a dirty curse word.

We have too many fat lazy entitled children in our society.
It's not the children that are asking for all these handouts. It's grown-ups who are just too lazy to think for themselves or think the government owes them everything.
