Do people not remember this being stated publicly at the beginning of covid before the cdc and others reversed course a month or so later? This email isn’t anything new.

ETA: the flip flopping on masks and general bumbling of what the cdc actually knew and didn’t know is a large reason why people were distrusting and everything became so politicized.

You are right though, we should probably never change our minds about anything ever.

I'm as anti-mask as anyone but this email isn't some sort of bombshell. They've been pretty consistent in saying that you wearing a mask (allegedly) protects others in the event you are infected...not the person wearing the mask.

The whole "my mask protects you. You're mask protects me."

I'm not arguing for or against but this conversation seems like it happened a year ago.

The actual truth is what’s in that email. Before masks were political, science was clear with multiple studies done Pre covid masks do little to nothing for virus prevention

They only changed course when it became political theatre. It was common knowledge surgical masks do little to nothing in the form of viruses in general pop, and they were worn for wound infection within the surgery room.
