Marijuana industry following tobacco industry

It really is the devil. Teens that smoke cigarettes and drink tend to stay away from pot so that’s the direction we’re going with our oldest.

The corporatization and commercialization of marijuana on a massive scale is not something I think many people look forward to…
It’ll be crazy one day when there’s Marlboro/Phillip Morris equivalent or something who dominates the nations weed supply.

I would estimate that over 50% of my current 7th grade students vape regularly. If they’ll vape, they will probably also smoke weed.
It seems that vaping and weed are to their generation what dipping and chewing of were to my generation.

Thank god I didn't have Mary Jane companies around when I was a teen to convince me to make a bong out of a ketchup bottle, smoke shitty ditch weed, throw fire crackers in a port o potty and then play twisted metal all night

Some things to point out in the article:
- Usage isn’t just up in “pot legal states”. I argue it’s due to higher social acceptance.
- Increased potency doesn’t have anything to do with trying to hook kids.
- I’ll give them the nod to packaging but IMO that’s less to appeal to kids and more to fool an officer at a cursory glance. But that’s just a biased opinion.
Also, the author credentials scream “I make a lot of money off of the criminalization of THC”
ETA: Also frick this guy being a White House policy advisor who doesn’t adamantly argue marijuana shouldn’t be a Schedule 1.
