You really need to post a picture.

That’s great! I’m always interested in that kind of stuff and wish I had an eye what to look for but I’m an old red neck
Pick what you know or like, hunting stuff, fishing lures, vintage cowboy boots, clothes, and hats, or whatnot.
When I started, I liked LSU, toys, and just the bizarre.
One of my great hits was a checkbook box full of train tickets from 1903 to 1930. I paid ¢.50 and sold them for $1000+. I once bought a box of hotel keys from the 50’s to the 70’s. I paid $20 and sold them for somewhere in the $1000 range.
Just some odd ball shite that most people pass on.
I grew from there. If I found something interesting and it was a couple bucks, I’d buy it, get home, do research on it, sell it.
It’s even easier now with smartphones. You can look it up before buying it.
Smartphones has taken the fun out of hunting.

This is of particular interest to me because my aunt in New Orleans had an Aldo Luongo hanging on her wall when I was a kid. It sticks out in my memory because it was the backside of a naked woman. Anyhoo... She is long dead, but her youngest brother still has the painting and was researching in order to possibly sell it. I'll have to tell him this CSB.
Pretty simple. Tell him to contact the studio in California. They have a website. His daughter, Vanessa, is the curator and could help.

I said earlier that the artist is some old man.
The guy is a player. All he does is paint, drink, hang out with celebrities, and snow mobiles.
This is his wife (good for him)

Update on my research of this painting:
I finally heard back from the artist. He said my painting is from around 1975, and was during the time of “designing the spirit of Hawk.”
Basically saying this Hawk paint is a VERY early painting of Hawk, the equivalence of having a very early Blue Dog.

That is so awesome. My daughter (no pics) is an artist. I love sharing these type of stories with her. Gives her hope.
Thanks for sharing!

Too bad it’s not a 1959 Les Paul Standard.

It's only worth what someone is willing to pay. Let us know what you sell it for. Hopefully it's a lot.

I haven’t decided if I want to sell it or not. I’m leaning on keeping it a few years. The artist is an old man now, even tho he only looks 60 with a supermodel wife

Can we get an update on how much you got for this piece? I never trust art galleries and their bloated valuations, usually which are 10x actual street value.

What is your favor antique that you own?

If it's good art and you really like it, keep it. Too often, good art is a luxury hard to justify or afford. You got a really nice piece on the cheap, keep it. You will be glad you did later.

That is an impossible question to answer, and perhaps is worthy of a top 10 list.
Some of my favorites include a Kazimierz Sichulski Christmas themed oil painting, a little known sketch of Prytania St by the greatest New Orleans painter of all-time, John McCrady, my 1928 Book of Common Prayer, a WW2 British soldier Book of Common Prayer, which I received from my deceased Great Uncle, who lived in Edinburgh, and an original Oxford Lectern Bible designed by Bruce Rogers (1935) that has the original binding.

It has not sold yet at $4000. What I don’t understand is his prints sell for $2000+. I have talked to the artist. He remembers painting this painting in the mid-70’s.
It now guards my bourbon.

You have to find someone who collects that particular artist. You could end up holding onto that painting for forever. I have family who do estate sales and they have one particular painting that is valued at $30k that they can't sell.
