He is not a professor. He is a doctoral student. Many doctoral students teach an introductory level course. So please don't assume he is a a professor.

His opinions aren’t what really bothers me. You are all allowed to be wrong.
His language and communication is are both big issues. He comes off as an imbecile that struggles to calmly express his thoughts. It represents LSU very poorly.
Unfortunately this will likely be picked up by national news networks, and it’s likely that he had a history of doing this in the lecture hall and around other colleagues. And there isn’t another major story that LSU’s press room can put out right now to distract from this.
This will hurt university’s alumni relationships, donor base, and ability to land new research partners. That’s why LSU needs to part ways with him.

i happen to know quite a few professors across the LSU and UL systems
if you want your career to progress, you cannot mention anything coming close to a conservative viewpoint. if you don't jump on the 'hate trump' bandwagon at dinner, you will quite literally be laughed at by everyone and ridiculed. i'm speaking from experience.

People are often arrested or lose their jobs from all over the country for sending threatening voicemails to politicians. Don’t act like this dude is some fricking victim. He made his decision now he’ll have to live with the consequences. Just like anyone else who threatens a public official
