What about property taxes? Those are only going to get higher ever since COVID screwed up the market. Rent prices will go up to offset that. This state will see less people buy from visitors when they realize they are going to pay double digits in sales taxes. People already living here are going to have to wait to see their tax returns offset their expenses throughout the year. It's completely undesirable.
I wouldn't mind being taxed to the gills if I saw something positive happen with those taxes. The state is no position to keep taking from taxpayers when all of that money is wasted or put into the pockets of politicians and their friends.
