Nope. The insurance commissioner emailed me last week and said they are only going to increase Doublebagger's this year.

Spoke to my broker today. I must be the unicorn. Virtually no change from last year. $40 increase. Was really fearing that conversation.

Rather be lucky than good any day of the week.

Policy was going up about $1400. Shopped it and found better coverage for $400 less BUT Hurricane deductible basically doubled on me (from 1% - 2%)

Pretty sure we have had this thread 7 times the past 2 months.

Yes, the insurance companies operating in a state that has been rocked by multiple strong hurricanes the past two seasons are having trouble justifying covering property at previous rates, if at all.

Mine went up 40% because of the raw materials.

Apparently my house appreciated in value and I never knew

Most home values went up $50k+ for no good reason the last few years. Mine did. I hope the tax assessor doesn't come out to take advantage.

Yep but Allstate started writing coastal parishes again and I saved 3k a year just on the wind policy and my deductible went down to 1%
