Long time lurker and first time poster so go easy on me baws

Wife (no pics) got dismissed by her OB several times for lumps and wound up at her GP doctor to find out she has breast cancer. We've been hit with massive medical bills on top of what our insurance covers due to the advanced stage and treatment needed. I'd like to see if there's any recourse for her and am looking for a good malpractice attorney. Any recommendations or insight would be greatly appreciated.

Why would you pick on these poor doctors? People like you are the reason we need more tort reform in Louisiana. Individuals shouldn’t have rights at the expense of these innocent doctors. You are the reason healthcare costs are so high.

Breast cancer detection is very inexact. Don't even bother.

Also we are not "those" type of people just trying to get a payday from our misfortune. I am also not here for a go fund me/handouts/etc. Just looking for some guidance on attorneys or the situation.

If your wife asked for tests, why on earth would doc say no?

Do you have documentation of her telling her OB about the lumps? Amazing in this day in age a doctor worth their salt would ignore a 36 yo with lumps in their breast.

My aunt had a similar case. Not sure about publicizing her lawyer’s name on a forum such as this...

I have no idea. I'm not a doctor or well versed in how that process works. What I can speak to is requesting testing on tissue/tumors now to find out response to chemo for example. It's very very hard to get doctors to submit patient requested tests.

I'm not sure as to the "level" of documentation as the visits were requested via phone with lumps being the reason. We didn't send them a fax or certified letter regarding it.

Told her (probably due to age) not to worry about it and it was related to hormones. Take some OTC pain meds and put a hot towel on it. She had a miscarriage a month or two before which I'm sure contributed to the dismissal.

Townsley firm in Lake Charles

ETA - And you need to call an attorney ASAP. Statute of limitations may be something to consider.
