Vet found a tumor all up in his chest and neck. Prognosis was horrible, so we decided to put him down. Just sucks. He was only 7 years old, and a great dog.
Apologies for the gigantic pic.

Wonderful looking pup, no doubt he lived an incredible life even if it was only 7 years.

That sucks man. The best thing to do is get a new dog ASAP. It is really upsetting to lose a dog and it helps to get started raising another one right away.

I cant handle labs. they chew up everything and just have more energy than I canhandle. sorry for your loss though. I would suggest and Australian shepherd or border collie next.

You did the right thing, your buddy trusted you in this decision.

Not gonna lie. I've had better days. Wife and kid are really torn up.
We were not at all prepared. We knew he had a tumor, but thought it was benign.
TO OweO: we actually have another dog, which will make the transition easier, I think.
Oh, and chocolate labs (all labs really) are great dogs. Very easy going. He was a lot of fun.

I feel the shock and heartbreak you feel, from personal experience. Losing a dog is like losing a best friend and close family member, all in one. So very sorry this has happened. One day you will feel better and you will move on with happy memories of your departed pal - but the memory of this will still be back there somewhere, and a little bit of the same ache. At least that has been my own experience. But it does get better with time.

Sorry for your loss. I went through the same thing in 2014. At least I had two days before he was put down. It’s a really tough decision

Sorry to hear
My chocolate lab was laying on me last night and I felt a little growth on her right shoulder, kinda felt like a fatty deposit or whatever, also 7 years old.

Thibodeaux had some of those too, and we thought that's what this was. If its all squishy and moves around, then it's a fatty tumor. If it's not, get it checked out.
Give your dog a hug for me when you see him.
