I think BR is a lot like Little Rock if you dropped the University of Arkansas near downtown. It's trending in the wrong direction though.

It's North Little Rock

So then what? Unless it’s baseball or football season what other reason is there to go to Baton Ruse unless to visit family, frick your coed or work

Take away football, baseball and the coed, all you’re left with is work.

Jackson has better suburbs than BR.

This is true. I really think that is just poor city planning and the fact that BR doesn't have a whole lot of room in every direction for suburbs to be developed. If there was a bypass or loop or some sort of expressway to WBR, then some nice areas could be suburbanized but unlikely. But BR isn't all bad, its nice in its own charming little way.

It’s actually the principal reason it became a decent sized city. It was sort of a small town when it was just the capital and main college town of the state.
Population:

1940 34,719 +13.0%
1950 125,629 +261.8%

WWII expanded the plants, drawing all sorts of country baws to BR. One of them, Mr. Cannon of Philadelphia Mississippi, brought his little boy Billy with him.

The only SEC town I've been to that reminded me of BR was Columbia, SC.

Somewhat, but BR is basically an extension of New Orleans, geographically at least, and Laffy is equally close, so its really like 3 cities in one area. As far as what to do in BR outside of LSU, I don't see Jackson having Blue Bayou baw. What about Bayou DufusFest? Spanishtown parade? Endless cuisine and Culcha? Jackson has a few fast food joints but its not really close.

BR is somewhat unusual in that the nicest upper middle class/wealthy areas in the metro are in the city or STG. In most other similar sized Southern metros these are in the suburbs.

Basically all of La is oil and gas based. They aren't drilling a lot (at least that I am aware of) in BR but I would imagine a lot of the refining process gets done down around those parts. It's also the furthest up river a lot of the bigger ships can go. Shreveport is huge in oil and gas but its also smaller and because South La focuses on drilling more offshore I would think. but oil and gas is sort of slowing down all over these days it seems sadly.

Or like Omaha, Tulsa, Jacksonville, Mobile, Sacramento, Green Bay, Columbus(OH), Lexington, and Tuscaloosa.

Heaven forbid a city isn't fun year round like your beloved New Orleans. We have jobs in these cities and we go on vacations to beaches and mountains and shite.

You're stupid. I don't wanna be Facebook friends anymore.
