This section of the interstate system is an embarrassment even for Louisiana standards. I was living in BR in the 70's when it was built. It is nothing more than a series of patches. Why have they not paved it since it was built?

What’s there to talk about? It has too much traffic for 2 lanes and people don’t drive well on it. It costs hundreds of millions of dollars to improve. What else do you want to say?

The Airline interchange was designed by the most ignorant arse engineer in the history of the world. It backs shite up daily for miles. That m'fer should be shot.

Turn Florida Blvd into the Livingston NASCAR SuperFrikinFreeway and problem solved.
Shut down all lights at intersections between downtown and the parish line.
Use the service roads as a type of on/off ramp to get to Airline, Sherwood, Flannery, Oneal, etc.

Most LA government workers are driving in from outside parishes anyway.

I am 54 and as long I can remember I-12 between Baton Rouge and Hammond has been in some form of construction or repair.

They didn't build the interstate level enough to be able to see stopped traffic on the other side of overpasses.

It was a lot worse in the 90s between BR and Hammond so I know it's been repaved at least once in 30 years

That was designed during the middle 1950s. Those engineers must be about 100 now.

i picked up a rumor at Frank's one morning that the section between Airline and the Amite R. was going to get a smooth asphalt overlay once the patching was completed.

I used to always bottom out going eastbound over airline when I had a low car. Right at the threshold between the earthen ramp and the bridge there is a hump then a dip. Pissed me off every time.

you guys can only put together a finite number of planning commissions to waste money in.
