Let's see if I can put this in OT terminology....

Where would be the closest place to live without a ridiculous drive and is not trashy? You know, like nice schools and cheap hookers and blow?

Per Google Maps, Gonzales is pretty close.

TIA.

If you're thinking long term, I'd go somewhere in Ascension since their schools are better than in St. James, which would be your other option.

Paulina area is nice, but the high school sucks, so you could just switch your kids to private school at that point, or hope the school gets better before/by then.

Paulina kids go to Lutcher high school and it does not suck. One of the better public schools in the area and has awesome athletics programs. Its a nice quiet place to live with good people all around. I graduated from Lutcher and Im doing pretty damn good for myself as are plenty of other Lutcher grads I know.

Also to the OP, you may want to look into the Sorrento area near Pelican Point. I have a friend who lives there and its a nice area as well. Not a far drive from Convent, you can take the River Road as an option to work or I-10.

Prairieville is about 20 minutes away. Some good homes in Pelican Point which is about 5-10 minutes away.

Pelican Point and Pelican Point crossing are about the only two neighborhoods I would live in that area.

Houses and land down Loosemore and lots of land down river road, which is highly underrated.

Pelican Point to the Oxy facility in Convent is about a 10-15 minute drive.

I am skeptical, but I wanted to start this thread anyway.

Especially the way alot of you have said that the BR area has really turned into complete shite.

The majority of this is way overblown.

Even closer to Pelican Point area. I would look there first then maybe consider GrandPoint/Paulina as well.
