So the kid parks his car next to the house and breaks into the old man’s house. Old man then opens the garage door (runs out while it’s still raising), runs across the street while the thug chases him. Then the thug was going to shoot the guy as he’s going through the neighbors gate? What a piece of shite.
Like, dude left the house so you could rob it. Why chase him. Even if he called the police you were gonna have your 8 minutes to steal shite and get away

I always wish I could get inside these idiots head for a few seconds to understand the thought process.
I am robbing you and you run away so I shoot you. It doesn't further the robbery, I shoot you why? As punishment for running?
I see a dude in a crowd I don't like. So I fire wildly into the crowd hitting a bunch of other people.
I fight the police and then am shocked when they fight back and I get injured.
Every single thing that happens to me that I don't like is because of racism. Not because of anything else. Not possible.

So was the thug demanding that this guy hand over valuables in a safe or something like that? Why the hell would he chase him down like that and try to shoot him?

That's what scares me the most about these situations. They'll shoot someone for absolutely no benefit. You'd think they'd try to minimize their risk, but all logic and reason seems to go out the window.

Okay, reading a separate news article, it appears the thug approached the man while he was exiting his car, inside his garage. Grandpa didn’t comply and instead ran from the thug.
I think if it were me, I would drop all my valuables (wallet, keys, phone, air pods), tell him he can take whatever, then I would try and run.
