In a 3-2 vote they approved Entergy Louisiana to pass on to the customer a 5.50 a month charge for Hurricane Ida repairs for the next 15 years. Frigging useless people.

Love how the article only points out that Lewis voted no. Tell us who voted YES.

well of course they did... no way you expected it to be any different. They all huddled up months back and decided who would be the 3 votes and which 2 needed to take the dissenting look

Ugh. Entergy is the fricking worst. They’re the worst for residential, they’re the worst for industrial. Yet they’re protected by the state through lobbyists and paid off politicians

Didn't their CEO receive like millions in "bonuses"???

Also, why are their energy charges SO much more than LUS, Cleco, anyone and everyone else???

You clearly don't know much about our PSC do you? They have a pretty interesting dynamic and have gotten pretty personal at times with some of their comments. There are two commissioners specifically who will NEVER vote in alignment with each other and practically hate each other.

I believe these other companies are in contract from Entergy for x amount of years. When it's time to re-sign the contact, those companies are going to absolutely rape their customers with the new rates

They’ve had record profits. All from paying off politicians and having people favorable to them elected to office. Nobody that uses Entergy actually finds it to be a good company. I’d much rather a cooperative like in Mississippi

We just got finished with 15 years of Hurricane Katrina storm damage fees...gosh they sure beefed up the grid with that sweet sweet cash.

Can't wait for someone to come in and complain about this increase then demands underground T&D.

Well, it is the appropriate response when they know the money won’t go towards updating the power grid.

Those aren't mutually exclusive statements.

Why isn't there some pressure on Entergy to reinvest some of their profits into improving the grid instead of just repeating repairs to the same fragile easily damaged infrastructure?

Also, in this instance it would have been relatively simple for PSC to play hardball with Entergy and demand they settle the refunds owed to the customers before they got this add-on fee.

Meh. I think it's pretty well obvious that the three yes votes are in the pocket of industry and the two no votes hate industry.

You are going to see a lot of 3-2 votes now that Bossiere has been rolled away.
