If you’re JBE (and think like him), why do you loosen restrictions?
You’ve carved out a huge amount of power, and the state legislature that has a super majority has done nothing to curb it. You’re not up for re-election.
You can sell to a large portion of the population that the restrictions are the things keeping them safe, so why would you lessen them? Don’t you want to be safe?
The people whose lives are being ruined by this don’t generally vote Dem anyway so why would JBE care?
He will do some SLIGHT loosening of restrictions but will almost certainly keep the majority of them through May.

Hospitalizations on 1/15 were 2100+. We are down approximately 1400 hospitalizations statewide in just over a month.
