Remember when some BR radio station did the same thing with "Cotton-Eyed Joe" back in the 90's.
Guess it is some radio stunt deal that gets used from time to time to draw listeners.

Station in Memphis DJ locked himself in control room and played mama got run over by raindeer for 2 days straight one December in the 80s. It was hilarious

Heard something similar when I was a kid with a achy breaky heart. They would introduce the next song with it's actual title and artist and then play achy breaky heart again.

Back in the 90’s WRNO did the same thing and played Achy Breaky Heart for hours on in straight. Then they switched formats to talk and an iconic station was history.
