I want to go to a place where I can have a few beers and eat some crawfish with the wife and kids in tow. The kids are an infant, 4, and 5. Want to get some good crawfish and decent beer with them remaining occupied and preferably fenced-in (unable to run off). Ideally somewhere with shaded outdoor seating, TVs, etc.

Any suggestions?

Boilhouse has the best crawfish around (for purist who don't sprinkle). But it's not the best kid environment. Small sitting area, has cans of beer and daquiris, etc. Ragin Cajun on Richmond is prob next best. Avoid all BBs unless you want that sprinkled shite.

The Boot on W 20th has a big fenced in patio and during the day typically has quite a few families, especially if there’s little league games right by there. Plenty of TVs and part of the patio is shaded

I thought BBs had both types. That is whats stated on the menu at least.

District 249 Bar & Grill might fit the bill. I've had the crawfish before and it was very good. They have a large covered area with TV's. We went on a Saturday so it was not too much like a honky tonk. They have sand volleyball courts and might have a children's area. My kids were teens so we just hung out.

I would start the kids with a nice Kool-aid & Vodka in a sippy cup, beer really is an acquired taste. They probably won't like the taste of beer until at least 11.

Don't buy cooked crawfish in Houston bro. Its never a good idea. We always liked bringing the kids to Wakefield Crow Bar and Grill during the day/afternoons. You can lock kids in the playground area or on a sand volleyball court while you eat and drink.

Bring a dog cage to keep the kids in. Then you can get hammered in peace while you tear up some over priced, small bugs.

very logical but Busch Light is a tad bit more classy imo.

If you’re any where near the south side of Houston go to Steamboat Bill’s in Pearland. Better crawfish than The Boilhouse and The Boot. It’s easy to get to off Beltway 8.
If not close to that area, go to the Boot.
