You will have groups of two or three people taking up the entire trail and leaving no room to pass.
This happens at least 10 times every time I ride on White Oak or Buffalo Bayou. Add shitty dogs on retractable leashes, people stopping in the middle of the trail for no reason or to take selfies.

Yep. I ride on White Oak Bayou as well. Same experience.

He tried to put the pipe through the spokes on the front wheel. When a headline says attacked with a metal pipe, I'm thinking swinging it at the person. Was wondering why it also said the cyclist was able to get away unscathed.

I mountain bike and the difference in attitude between roadies and off road bikers is huge. Most roadies act like entitled pricks, this guy may have had it coming.
Hold up, so if he was acting like a dick he should get thrown over his handle bars and take the 20 mph impact?
If not, had what exactly coming?

Too bad we don't get to hear what was said on the first encounter…

How dare they try to live their lives while you’re trying to live yours!
Just know they think as ill of you as you do of them. All they want to do is take the dog for a walk and post a pic of the activity, and some a-hole on his bicycle and his tight shirt has to come flying by like he’s racing in the Alps. Douchebags.

Your argument is really that its ok for them to consume an entire 12' wide trail and not share even a little piece? And it's OK to ignore everyone around you because frick them? It's a fricking hike and bike trail, everyone needs to share it and not be a prick. You're the fricking douchebag.

Putting bikers and runners on the same trail is and has always been a bad idea.

Buffalo Bayou has them separated and it does very little to help. There still a shite ton of foot traffic on the bike portion even when the pedestrian portion is 6ft away.
But I do agree I wish they were separated more often.

I've got a feeling that Lance had it coming. Most cyclist are self-important pricks.
Am I to believe the shirtless guy was just laying in wait for this guy to come by unprovoked? I don't buy it.

If I'm walking along and some douche starts hollaring "rider! rider!" I'm going to wish bad things on him and his family.
When I was a kid and rode a bike I didn't ride in pedestrian areas for a reason. There are pedestrians there.
These same bicycle douche canoes that bitch about pedestrians blocking a path are the clowns that ride in the middle of traffic and howl about the car drivers being pissed about them holding up traffic.

Agreed. But the first time it happens I'm not doing anything more than cussing the guy. If something happens with the same guy a second or third time, I'm probably gonna do more than cuss at him.

It is a trail designated for riders and pedestrians. What he was doing was simply a way to alert pedestrians of a rider approaching from behind. Why would that trigger anyone? Seems like a good thing to do to me.

Are they? Show your work.
If I were on said path, I would be one of the Pedestrians FTR.

Holding out judgment until someone convinces me the cyclist didn’t deserve it

I have cousins in Katy that I sometimes visit.
This could've been me.

The same anti-bike douche canoes who bitch about cyclists riding in the street are the same clowns who howl about cyclists riding on designated bike paths.
FTR, I ride the Houston hike and bike trails 3-4 days a week. The cyclist on the designated bike trails do it because they want to avoid riding in the street, having signal protected crossings, etc.

Road bikers are in general assholes so this guy was likely acting like he was training for the Tour de France and yelling at people to get out of his way. I mountain bike and the difference in attitude between roadies and off road bikers is huge. Most roadies act like entitled pricks, this guy may have had it coming.
In general, I don’t disagree but road bikers do have to deal with walkers, joggers, and idiot drivers, so I get some of their attitude.
