Altria (MO) aka Dividend King is completely collapsing and now in a race to join the -80% + growth stocks that will not rebound for another decade.

Altria had already written down most of their investment in Juul over a year ago, so this likely won't have much affect on their financials or dividend going forward. It should bounce back after this initial reaction to the news.

Feiw

“Altria (ticker: MO) had invested $12.8 billion in Juul at the end of 2018. After several write-downs, the investment's carrying value was down to $1.7 billion as this year began. If the FDA does bar Juul from the market, Altria's write-off of the remainder of its holdings could exceed 90 cents a share, pretax.”

So the government isn’t cool with nicotine but they are cool with allowing fentanyl coming from China and entering the country via the border?
So kids can now buy fentanyl at the corner store?

They’re now officially off the market. This administration just must be asking to lose by epic numbers in 2022 and 2024 at this point.

Eta - the same government that spends tax payer dollars on crack pipes and needles to give out to addicts.

It’s blatantly obvious that the tobacco industry is in bed with our government

I’d mmm curious to see how much their profits have dipped, if any, since vaping became popular
