Just a good ole boy doing what good ole boys do…
Dog ejected from car during accident…found two days later herding sheep.

quote:

A pet dog who vanished for two days after being ejected from a vehicle during an accident has been found apparently doing the job it was bred to do — herding sheep

quote:

Linda Oswald's family and their dog, Tilly, were driving along Idaho State Highway 41 on Sunday when they crashed into another car, launching the dog through the rear window, The Spokesman-Review reported.

quote:

Oswald said the family then wrote a Facebook post that included a picture of the 2-year-old border collie and red heeler mix and more than 3,000 people shared the post. That's when Tyler, Travis and Zane Potter recognized the dog in the photo as the same dog they saw on their family farm south of Rathdrum on Tuesday.

That’s the look of a dog that has seen freedom and is no longer content with living under their roof.

We have a picture of my great grandmother when she was a young mother, with what appears to be a border collie from the looks of it. She would put her baby on a quilt on the ground and the dog would keep the baby from crawling off the quilt.

So did they bother looking for the dog after the accident or did the dog use it as an attempt to escape to FREEDOM.

Some family friends have a german shepherd. When they had a kid, the dog picked up quick that the kid was important and started spending the nights sleeping under the crib. If you weren't the parents, you had less than a second to convince that dog it was okay for you to be in the house. If anyone went in that room, they weren't getting that second.

Sounds like the pup got scared and ran off and hid. They probably couldn't find it in the time they had. They immediately blasted Facebook with pics and such which led to them being contacted after less than two days.

Wifey had a border collie when she was a kid, it used to herd their family into a corner of the family room.

Dogs are great for figuring that stuff out. When my nephew was younger he was often at my parent's house. When he started walking, my dad had an young lab that kept wanting to play and knocked my nephew over a few times when he started walking.

I was no longer living there, but old Blue Heeler still stayed there. She picked up pretty quick on my nephews plight and started walking next to him everywhere he went. She would let him lean on her for support and if my dads dog came by out of control, she would nip at her heels and chase her away

My mother has a picture somewhere of my nephew using ole Blue as a support. She was a great dog and I miss her terribly.
