You didn't say that though. You question what there is to be proud of.
You're being a total bitch and not standing by what you say.

That's democrats who are just mad they lost the election. Sad that they've turned being proud to be American dependant on who wins the election.

I am 100% HAPPY to be an American. I have lived abroad and traveled extensively. I know that the United States is superior. I am not necessarily proud to be an American as I had nothing at all to do with that....other than being lucky as hell to have been born in the US, which I am extremely grateful for, I don't know what pride has to do with it....
The US is the best nation on earth, for me and mine, and it is not close. I am extremely happy and grateful to be an American but I am proud of my kids, my wife, my dog, all of whom I had a hand in growing. The United States would be exactly what it is today with or without me and most of us...
I am proud of what I have accomplished as a result of having been born in the United States....but pride is defined as "feeling deep pleasure or satisfaction as a result of one's own achievements, qualities, or possessions or those of someone with whom one is closely. associated". I am what I am because of the United States, the United States is not what it is because of me.....

This makes zero sense. America is what it is because of its citizens and how we do things, well some of us anyway.

this is the best retort you can come up
with? want to try again?
Cute. Name another major power where you can trash your government out loud without a knock on your door or a one-way ticket to a gulag.
Sure sure, you did a quick Google search and to cite article by the Commonwealth Fund that pins America at the 93rd percentile for overall firearm mortality worldwide. Yay you! (not clever, but not surprising)
But dig deeper in that anrticle and you’ll see 58% of those gun deaths in 2023 were suicides. I would imagine that is a pretty consistent rate year over year. Suicides are a mental-health crisis, not a failure of the Second Amendment.
try again.

I am proud to be an American because, no matter how fricked up our system currently is, I get to enjoy freedoms (not as many as I'd like) with reasonable security (probably too much) and we tend to be one of the more reasonable countries out there on most things.
What you are describing, and you are 100% spot on, is gratitude, not pride. No single individual is responsible for the greatness that is the United States....we are all part of it to some extent but it is the opportunities we have as Americans that sets America apart and grateful is the correct term, not pride, because we have not done it on our own....in fact most of it existed before we did and will long after we do if mankind is fortunate.

So now you're admitting that your first point was wrong. Cool cool.

You aren't worth much more effort than that to prove wrong klark.

We would not be capable of doing the things we do were it not for the United States. It is one thing to be proud of the US...we are the best and brightest hope of mankind. We are all part and parcel of that. Being an American is not something most of us did with malice and forethought....we were born here, lucky frickers that we are we hit the lottery. That is not something that we did on our own effort, we were lucky. Being grateful for the opportunities that the US offers is far more sensible than being proud of your citizenship, unless of course you are an immigrant and then becoming a citizen of the greatest nation that every existed was a choice you made.

That's crazy. My grandpa was in WWII and was taught that you can disagree with people, but at the end of the day you are all still American.. And movies like Rocky (especially Rocky 4), Top Gun, Red Dawn, etc.. all made it even cooler to be an American.
I plan a lot of this shite on Social Media. Think back to 2005. Only 4 years after 9/11.. People were proud Americans. Even 5 years later there was still a lot of pride in being American. Look at when social media started to increase in users.

you haven’t made a single rebuttal that is relevant and not some copy/paste Reddit buttburt nonsense. I’d say this too if I was getting my arse handed to me (again)

What facts have you contributed to this thread, apart from citing that article whose arguments were so easily refuted? (by data within said article you linked)

I'm sure most countries are correctly reporting these figures, and completely unbiased as well. A large portion of gun deaths in the United States each year are suicides, and that's before you include the obvious bias of accidents not being deemed suicides for insurance purposes.

why are the liberals so self loathing?
Because they've been taught that this place sucks and they're a victim. It's not a coincidence that many of them have failed to achieve any level of meaningful success in life, so to cope with that they go along with anyone who says "(insert oppressor) did you wrong".
