Jordan Peterson is taking heat today for Tweeting that obesity is not beautiful

I saw the early ratio soon after the tweet and knew that this wouldn't be good for Peterson.
So, we all know one of the latest trends in inclusivity. It's been well documented here.
The thing about Peterson is he's got, from what I can tell, an overarching rule. Always tell the truth. And this is more than "refrain from lying." He gets this from the classic novelist of Brothers Karamazov, Fyodor Dostoevsky. And Peterson would also argue that the origins of always tell the truth is found in the Biblical narrative, over and over again.
And the thing about Peterson is that he reduces life to the decisions that we make. And he wants to inspire people to aim upward in their decisions, meaning toward an ideal. Healthwise, it is ideal to be fit. It is worth aspiring to. But there's another dimension.
He also argues that based on his reading of Genesis, beauty shames the ugly and strength shames the weak. Death shames the living and the Ideal shames us all. We are nothing if we fail to acknowledge and strive for the ideal.
So that's where he's coming from when he tweets this:

Yep
So many bots on Twitter will be triggered.
And fat ugly people.
But not all fat ugly people, some of them know fat and ugly when they see it.

Being an obese whale is not beautiful. No matter how many obese whale blue check marks scream about it.

Soon to be Diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, and heart trouble all crammed into one strained bikini should not be celebrated as beautiful.

And when Covid kills her, there will be screams for more mandates and lockdowns because she was 'so healthy and beautiful'!!!!!!

It's gross. She's not attractive. Drop 100 lbs and we'll talk.

To each their own.
But if being obese were beautiful, weight loss wouldn’t be a multi-billion dollar industry.

nobody actually thinks obesity is beautiful, outside of fetishists. This isn’t controversial to anyone; but people will feign outrage because it gets them virtue points.

I'm sorry, but no amount of propaganda will make a person that fat attractive. It's unhealthy and gross and it's insane that people want to normalize it. She's not gross obese but she's overweight.

They can scream as loud as they want. Attractive and well to do men will not have a physical attraction to grossly overweight women. and vice versa. I imagine this makes some of those screaming very sad. And of course, screaming on Twitter is much easier than just eating healthier food and going on a run regularly.

I mean it's just not healthy. There's something to be said by saying it otherwise. Like a magazine that supports activities (sports) showing someone that obviously just isn't.
It's not ok to be ok with that size. You should want to change and be healthy. Make that the fricking story.

I had a few good friends like you. You made for an excellent wingman in your early 20s

He has the right to say it and people have a right to state their opinion, whether people agree or disagree..

"Shaking"...more like quaking. She's a threat to china cabinets and seismometers.
