These are the kinds of things that people don't think about. They think, "Well, he's a pretty centrist democrat. What's the worst that could happen"?
This is the problem. Adults should understand that freedom comes at a cost. Every adult should be able to do a risk/benefit analysis in real time called - common sense. If you and your family, together, decide that you want to risk Covid-19 and enjoy a get together; then damnit, you should be able to.
I understand that "we live in a society" and there's a shared burden of what we call freedom. That's just how it goes though. Life is risk. Life is full of danger. Leaving the house carries an exponential, compounding risk of harm. Accidents are the fourth leading cause of death in America. Think of the thousands of lives we could save if we just permanently locked people down. Yeah. We could also just live our lives and accept that nothing is guaranteed, and there's nothing more important than having the right to choose to live your life and pursue happiness in the way you desire.
