My favorite W&J bit was when they were in NOLA and they talked about being guest Kings for the Krewe of FA. they said everyone was yelling "throw me those Fa-King Beads"

Hearing his voice on these old clips is tough.

They were great until they decided to go all in political. I guess that was Obama derangement syndrome.

I know they went off the rails with politics in the last 10-12 yrs
They did but I think it allowed them to survive finding that niche in a changing business.
it turned me off the show personally, I used to listed to them to make me laugh back in the 90's and they did, but IMHO they weren't very funny when they made that turn.
Nevertheless, RIP JW.

Sad day. One of the "commanders of common sense" is gone.
I can only imagine how SJ feels.
RIP JW.

I would counter that based on the derangement of the Left, based on the violence of Antifa/SJWs, and the push to socialism, and away from free speech... those old guys were ahead of their time to criticize what they observed the last 10-12 years.
I feel dumber for having read that. What a load of horse shite.

You were dumb well before that.

guy who called in... had to be right after the 7:00 hour began... who was talking about losing his son around the same time John's boy died... man just...

Even in death, John Walton triggers you. He's laughing from the afterlife.

Sad news. I started listening to them with my Dad back when he would take me to work with him when I was a teenager (too many years ago). Now, I always alternate between them and the local radio morning show here in Hattiesburg.

Damn this really hits hard. Used to listen to them every morning when I lived in BR. When I moved to Jackson the coverage was really spotty and I didn't drive as much but I would always tune in when I could get it.
Honestly when I would be visiting BR and had to be back in Jackson the next morning I would wake and drive back early in the morning instead of leaving that night just so I could listen to them on my drive home.
I know a lot of people will say that the show went down hill when it started getting too political and I can understand how people could see it that way but for me even when it got political I just listened for what it was, funny.
Being able to listen to a show like that where they talk a lot about politics and different issues without getting worked up or upset by any view points and be able to just laugh was really refreshing. Even if you didn't agree with them and and their stance on a particular issue they presented it in a way that was still funny and still made you laugh and that's something special.
RIP Mr Walton, Thank you for a lifetimes worth of laughs and good radio

I’ve gotten reacquainted with the show over the past few years because I drive the causeway.
I agree, politics aside, from he show has already been funny. Walton was a great talent. He could have gone full political and been a national guy if you ask me. That just wouldn’t have been him though. He wanted to appeal to the 10% not 50%.

Kenny's voice is horrific. Hopefully they can find someone to fill John Walton's role.

I'm sorry to hear that Walton moved on.
Started listening when I was at LSU right before the breakup and thought it was good. When Rumble came in to replace Johnson, I thought the show was better and I turned them on more than Stern.
I always thought Rumble and Johnson would've killed.
I listened occasionally since moving to FL and I don't think Walton had hatred. He just moved the show from pure zoo to more conservative political to catch some of the heat that Limbaugh had, Rush and conservative talk radio were insanely huge back then.
Sort of tuned out completely when they became more political, I'm not into that stuff, it gets boring fast.
RIP straight man.

Horrible. They replace someone with a low booming voice with someone who sounds like his balls are trapped in a vice.

His wife is on the show now.
