What brand of engine does JD use on their smaller gennys?
I saw that their higher end units use Kohler.
I’m interested in the prg6000m and it has a Mi-T-M OHV engine.
I know what OHV but is the other part an indication of the engine brand name?

That's a brand of pressure washer. Your deere might get your sidewalk clean but that seems like a waste for a tractor.

What kind of trannys does John Deere use?

Outdoor board would probably be more help than the OT

That is a Yanmar. They have made the smaller engines for Deere for decades. They are also on about most every sailing yacht on the oceans. Access to parts and repair is no problem.

Most all of John Deere’s power equipment is made by Mi-T-M
The reason you subdivision dwellers don’t know anything about them is because that’s the brand of stuff that United Rents buys to rent out....in other words, you don’t see it at Home Depot or Lowe’s. It is very very good stuff.
I did not realize that Mi-T-M started to make their own engines- must be just like how Generac did.
In any case- the Deere dealer will have parts and service for the unit. Much better choice than anything that would come from a box store.

Ok that makes sense. I remember Yanmar making engines for Deeres compact diesel tractors.

I sold their pressure washers a few years back and they make a decent product for the money. Mostly sold to independent outdoor power dealers and rental houses.
