Asking myself this now. I won’t find better benefits, it’ll be hard to find a comparable salary, and the perks are almost too good but my manager grinds my gears

The great thing about having a bigger team is more people to delegate to.

shite flows downhill.

Just look for another job and accept an offer that’s better than what you currently make.

Not rocket surgery.

When do you know it’s time for you to move on from your job

When you dread waking up and going to work. Life should be better than that, maybe you won't like doing some things at work some of the time, but you can't go through life dreading each day

Honestly, all jobs suck or else they wouldn’t pay you to do them. A shitty boss however makes work hard to bear. There is something to be said for familiarity, but if you start getting depressed or just dread going to work every morning, start looking.

I guess a better way to put it is we have become a regional team which has meant more work for some of us

but your bosses suck

This. No matter where I've worked, your direct boss/next higher boss essentially create your job experience. You have responsibility in taking charge of this to the extent you can, of course, but I've worked in consulting firms that other people would fire artillery at the building by the way they got treated, but I made sure I worked for the right partners, and loved it.

Before you move, try to figure out if the bosses are on their way out or are going to be potentially reassigned.

Start looking NOW, so you're not desperate. For me at least, it was 90-120 days to find the right job (as opposed to "a" job) when I was under 10-15 years of experience.

I left a company last year because I refused to work for my boss any longer. He was an absolute chode. I was considered a valuable asset in my department. Always got great reviews. Had been promoted by previous bosses. This guy liked my work but he always acted like you were bothering him and wasting his time. He was dismissive of others and just an awful human being in how he treater his staff.

He was there a year and had a staff of 30. Refused to learn anybody's names beyond a select few people on the management team.

When I left that place they asked me why. I said anybody who continues to work for someone like that either doesn't have any self respect or are out of options.

Some people aren't worth investing your time in. It's okay to walk away.

Some of the best advice I have ever been given:

Are you running to something or running from something?

That's always interpreted too simply. You're looking to leave, for a reason. But you do have to define what it is you want in your next job. Too many people under 40-45 don't even know what they really want, they just know what they don't want. Unless they're getting individual career counseling from somewhere other than the OT, it's tough to expect the majority of people to honestly know what they want to run *to.*
