if there is a murder ANYWHERE in Orleans Parish during the takedown... someone needs to link the story with the pic of all the police at the statue
they don't stop crime when the statues were standing so what difference does it make?
LOLZ at the fake caring. So concerned about the plight of young black men in inner city NOLA now? FOH

Your response is disturbing. You are trying to justify a majority black police force in our city ignoring the genocide of black youth by other black youth in my city. You are the problem...its time to look in the mirror between your hashtag Facebook selfies.

I was raised Republican and now associate more independent due to my liberal social outlook...however, I have been amazed and disgusted by the Democrat Party's lack of caring of the inner city black communities in cities across this country.
Quick question --- what can conservatives offer to them? Why don't they try?

Conservatives want to offer them jobs and training, while the Democrats want to keep the 95% voting bloc intact by further shoving them onto the government teet, ensuring the black community never improves.
The "it's not your fault" and "racism" bullshite is nothing but shredding any chance the black community has at breaking out of their cycle.

At least Democrats live there... kind of hard to care if you've jetted off to Metairie or Mandeville

You're interpreting it wrong. Of course its a problem. Im alluding to them being undermanned. At full strength the city is still a killing zone. Bringing the statues isn't going to make it any better or worse.

If I convinced you that someone else was trying to kill you, would you take a sandwich from them even if you were starving?

Quick question
Sooo no comment on Mr Abe wanting to ship the slaves to plantations in other countries? Or his planned island "get away"?
Why won't you join my campaign to strike down mount Rushmore and change our currency?
How on earth can you act like nothings wrong when those racist slave owners are all over our money?! I mean.. A statue you never see is bad juju, but cash you use and or see every day is okay?
What?

Quick question --- what black communities vote conservatives into power? When is the last time New Orleans (a majority black city) voted for a republican mayor?

An equal shot...one party is using past (horrible) injustices commited by distant dead people (btw some slave owners in NOLA were black and blacks captured and sold other blacks into slavery to the Portugese in Afica) as a reason to anger and excuse behavior. It needs to end. Their needs to be a re-incarnation of personal responsibility in this country.

It was a time I remember, oh, so well
The night they drove Old Dixie down
And all the bells were ringin
The night they drove Old Dixie down
And all the people were singin
They went
Naaaaaa na na na na naaaaaa
Na na, na na, na na na na naaaaaa

This is why I only go to NOLA about 4 times a year to throw up behind Madigan's and lose my keys.
Posted on 5/11/17 at 12:35 am to Tigerlaff
What's this boards obsession with Madigan's?

Back with my wife in Tennessee, when one day she called to me
"Virgil, quick, come see, there goes Robert E Lee"
Now I don't mind choppin' wood, and I don't care if the money's no good
Ya take what ya need and ya leave the rest,
But they should never have taken the very best
