Should you receive healthcare if you have an accident and you were drinking? Should you receive healthcare for diabetes if you ever ate a candy bar?

Although I think healthcare should be predicated on personal accountability, I am speaking more to access to healthcare.

Do people who want to defund the police, have the right to call 911 when robbed?

If you can't support the system, should you get to fall into its safety net?

Its an ethical question. I don't give a frick if people wear a mask or not. I think humanity is to far gone to save either way.

How is a public service equivalent to something that one purchases voluntarily?

Because technically, you purchase insurance not healthcare. If things go to shite in healthcare the government will prop it up as they do everything. Also regardless of insurance status you will be treated.

Also you pay taxes for those municipal services that people want defunded so its still a service you pay for.

Absolute scare tactics. They released prisoners with criminal records due to the virus. If they do that, they show it's not about safety

Everything that the shitty and superficial set of data we have been given over the last few months is expected and was predicted by many, but the government is using it as justification for implementing rules.

Although I know we will never get it, I want good data and complete transparency on this thing so we can walk step by step through the incompetence of reaction of our government (not just Louisiana) through this thing. I am by no means a conspiracy theorist and am not pointing fingers at one political party over the other.

Politics has gotten to the point where whatever side of the aisle you fall on is all about optics and controlling a message to further whatever your agenda is rather than furthering the best interest for all of the people. I’m not at all saying this is not a real health crisis, but our incompetence and response In an emotional and not pragmatic manner to this is staggering.

You make decisions off of data and not emotion. Once emotion is brought into any part of the decision making process, you make poor decisions.

If it isn’t law, it isn’t enforceable. Kentucky is already ahead of you on this. Tell your Gov to go frick himself.

Sure, I won’t be wearing a mask under any circumstance. I’m not afraid of the sniffles.

I’m sorry but I’m not buying the fact that the big bad government is asking me to wear a mask so the economy, the same one that these politicians have to live in as well, will crash.

It’s not the mask mandate that’s destroying the economy. It’s the continued shutdown or reduced capacity for small businesses. Almost like there were multiple actions that were announced at the press conference. Crazy, I know.

Personally, I don’t have a problem with the mask mandate. I realize there are some who are against it, but I’m fine with it.

I do have a problem with people acting like “if everyone would just wear a mask, we would be able to reopen.” There is zero evidence to support this. The reality is that nobody knows what the COVID numbers would look like today with widespread mask usage, and it’s just an easy way for the politicians to deflect blame for continued economic damage back onto the general public.

“The strategy was fine, you guys just didn’t execute it correctly.” That’s the game being played.

Interesting.

Pretty sure ANY prohibited activity for which incarceration is a potential penalty requires A frickING LAW.

one is a public utility and one is a private enterprise. They aren't comparable. I better comparison would be: should someone who wants to defund the police be able to personally pay for their own protection? And, the answer to this and to you is, Yes.
