The last time I saw him on TV, he did seem to be losing his facilities. I can't even remember which show it was, but it was like he wasn't understanding half the questions the host was asking. I always loved watching him bring goofy arse animals onto sound stages.

He got that job really young - was always fun to watch interact with animals/Letterman.

I remember reading his book “Monkeys on the interstate” (not what you’re thinking OT) as a kid. It was great, had some gory moments too though, like when they had to chainsaw a hippo corpse into pieces for disposal. Highly recommend

He and Dave were great together for many many years. Really funny guy.

He broke down on his last appearance. He was really torn up over Dave retiring.

Sounds like you might want to consider retiring too?

Met him a few times at his house. I worked at an exclusively private golf club in Cbus. Owner also owns the NHL Blue Jackets. He moved into the owners son's old house. We used to plow his driveway in the winter. He'd come out with Hissing Cockroaches and monkey's he kept at his house. Super nice guy. This is pretty sad since he loved talking to people and educating then on zoo creatures.

Damn you 2021!

These posts are always ridiculous to me.

Your threshold for a year being damned is a former semi-famous 74 year old having dementia?

So sad to see him (or anyone else for that matter)get that diagnosis. My grandmother had dementia and it was rough the last few years of her life.

My thoughts and prayers for he and his family.

I got the chance to see a Letterman show in 2014 and Jack was the guest. He was pretty funny.
