Well let's kill them all off with starvation then. Great plan!

3rd wave feminism and Government teet.

This is how you get to 21% of all Americans on some type of assistance.

People have it to good. Wait. WOMEN have it too good.

Time for the pendulum to swing back.

Pretty much, why should my taxes take care of losers who have no ambition. I'm not rich but I do what I have to do to provide for my family. People like you enable degenerates to keep acting the way they do. They'll starve or they'll work. Not my problem.

like how these threads neglect to include the other forms of entitlement spending like 1 trillion dollars in Social Security benefits and 700 billion in Medicare.

Tell me you are not that stupid. People pay into SS and Medicare their entire lives. This is not, and never was their (the governments) money in the first place, it’s not an entitlement. It a benefit taxpayers have paid for, and a shitty one at that. You would be far better off investing what you pay in over the course of your working career.

Where do you idiots get this garbage from? Sheesh

I don’t think anyone will begrudge the elderly for using social security retirement or Medicare after working their whole lives. Even people who have tried to support themselves but become (actually) disabled due to injury or illness, or people born disabled. It’s the fakers who never paid in to begin with on social security and Medicaid that i take issue with. But, you could also say that government regulation has made supporting yourself harder while making disability/Medicaid more profitable than work. Also, a lot of people on disability would work, but they risk losing their Medicaid benefits. It’s too big a risk, so they opt for the safe bet of government assistance and working for a little cash off the books.

Maybe because people paid into those programs during their working lives to receive those services in retirement. IMO that’s not an “entitlement”.

All of it is fricking trash.

I hate to tell you this, but our economy would crash if all government assistance programs ceased to exist.

I'me still suffering from injuries from 30 years ago and get nothing. To me, veterans should get benefits before anyone gets welfare, food stamps and medicaid. Veterans have put their lives on the line. Welfare people are just moochers.

Hate to break it to you but there are plenty of mooches in the armed services.

Welfare is suppose to help for a short term. It isn't suppose to be a way of life. They cycle continues for each generation. There are jobs out there. People are just too lazy and realize they can make more sitting at home popping out babies.

I agree there are veterans who know the system. They still deserve money before welfare queens. At least they did something to deserve it.

The best is the Medicaid patients that go to the ER 15 times a year

People who are out of touch with the expense of healthcare do this shite. My ex-wife was like that - she always had insurance paid by someone else and never paid attention to deductibles, etc. Kid gets sick - immediately off to ER. Her tune changed when she started footing the bill directly.

It really is amazing how many people are on medicaid that have no business being on it and could easily afford private plans. That's the one that bothers me the most.

I know business owners and hairdressers in california who are on medi-cal (our version of medicaid here in CA)

Wow. I thought the income threshold to qualify was really low. Are they just lying?

It would not crash. It would definiely reset without Walmarts et al.

No able bodied or minded person should get welfare as of today..not without training and/or education requirements.

When machines take over, transition to UBI with no strings attached.
