You misunderstood what I meant. The rich's welfare is viewed as needed, while the poor's welfare is viewed as greedy when it is the exact opposite. Not that rich=bad, but if you run a company into the ground you should deal with the fricking consequences.

I respect legitimately injured veterans.
But, let's be honest. Lots of guys with disability claims are bullshite.
I've known guys getting veterans checks for
Ingrown toenail
Broken ankle in basic training
Testicular torsion
Etc
Very few are like my buddy who got his teeth fricked up from getting hit by an IED.
Plenty of veterans are mooches too.

WIC (Women,Infants, and Children)
Medicare
Food stamps
Section 8
Social Security Disability
If you receive all of the above (and a shite ton of people do), then you can live well.

Probably 1/2 of that are aren't really eligible, but the systems are so broken, there is no oversight, so it's spend, spend, spend.

I didn’t even think you could buy junk like that with food stamps
That is a real issue

Unfortunately, this is very true. A lot of these systems a truly broken.

Can’t tell you how many people roll through walgreens or cvs, hand a medicaid card through the drive thru and drive off in their BMW

It's not just in the private sector. Take a gander at the number of local businesses that took the PPP money and made out like bandits. Millions of dollars, including non profits.
It's insane.
It's insane.

Anyone receiving welfare should forfeit his right to vote- and that includes the "Earned" Income Credit.
You're getting downvoted but there's something to this.
The net-takers are only gonna vote to net-take more of your taxpayer money, and therefore can hardly be objective when it comes to these matters. This will lead to the downfall of our young society.
A lot of the screeching you hear on the left are the perfectly-able-but-on-disability/welfare types.

The best is the Medicaid patients that go to the ER 15 times a year

You too can get in the fast lane
All you have to do is know LaQuanda from your local welfare office and cut her 20% of your haul and the forms will be done by tomorrow.

When I was younger, receiving government assistance carried a negative stigma.
The turning of the tide was getting rid of food stamps for EBT because peoples feelings were hurt using it.

The government should just dissolve welfare and stimulus checks and let survival of the fittest commence. Tired of these bailouts and handouts. We need a culling of the herd

food stamps aren’t about people eating. It’s about the govt pumping $40 billion a year into the food industry. We might hate it, but that’s what help rural groceries exist beyond the first 5 days of the month.

The entire business bailout for China Virus is less than the total on the first page of this chart which occurs every year into forever.
The difference is stark
Mostly because most of that business money could have actually gone to the welfare people if they bothered to work.

I like how these threads neglect to include the other forms of entitlement spending like 1 trillion dollars in Social Security benefits and 700 billion in Medicare.
Also let’s not forget how we spend $600 billion on the department of defense when we are bordered by 2 oceans and a very peaceful neighbor to the north.
Hate on welfare but also look at how much we spend in other areas as well.

You mean like what the farmers get or the big bailouts for companies.
Why do you find it shocking?
I mean, what you are mentioning isn't really govt assistance. It's a pittance.
You're creating a strawman that people who disagree with medicaid agree with those.

To be fair, these government “handouts” are really just giving you back what they previously took via taxation.
