The Phucking Drainage. Graves got over $200 million for the City/Parish to solve the drainage issues stemming from the Historic 2016 Flood and all the city has done so far is to buy a software program to identify which catch basins/gutters aren't properly draining . It has been almost 6 (Six) years since this disaster took place, damn. Why is the city/parish sitting on this money? And you know it is going to rain again.
The major creeks must be widened in order to increase their capacities, has one shovel of dirt been turned ?
We have a volunteer group here in town that picks up the litter (trash) Each Day at the major intersections of this butthole town, doing the job of city/parish maintenance. The only credit that these volunteers receive is some faceboot post and trashbag donations from private citizens. What is the mayor doing about this?
What does this have to do with St.George? It illustrates just how incompetent the leadership of this butthole city/parish is.

The mayoral candidates who didn’t get bounced over tax returns brought up the drainage in areas getting ignored like the creek area behind LSU Rural Life (between Essen and College).
They got summarily ignored when they brought up problem areas not getting attention and that the city still hadn’t completed their federally required waterway paperwork IIRC.

Has the COA gotten caught trying to swindle any old ladies’ estates recently?

Closing arguments and adjournment this morning before 11:00. Verdict will be decided in a few weeks. What ever it is will be appealed.

Once again…we were NEVER apart of the city of Baton Rouge.

Think it has enough steam to get to US Supreme Court?

It won't go that far. This will end with the La. Supreme Court

I don’t see why this needs to even go that far. There’s precedent everywhere. It’s not uncommon for this to happen. The only issue here is Baron Rouge is about to lose its cash cow. Because once this happens, and city services are affected, bet you see a lot of these virtue signaling businesses rescind their annexation requests.
You can say what you want about Kip, but this shite never would’ve happened while he was mayor. Kip appealed to his base for sure, but he knew where revenue came from.

Just more evidence of how undeniably shitty of a newspaper the Advocate is. It's a completely inaccurate farce.

Kip was way better than Broome but he was no friend of St George.

Throw in WBRZ saying we are splitting with Baton Rouge. A week ago the WAFB anchor lady said the same thing.
All this people do is repeat Broome’s talking points. They aren’t journalists. As big of an issue St. George this trial drew little coverage especially once the SG side presented their case.

This and only this is the reason they will keep fighting SG.

This entire mess started with Kip. He was the one who annexed the Mall of Louisiana, for both the revenue and in an attempt to change the boundaries of SG and get the first petition nullified. He annexed the hospitals on Essen and got caught lying that he was the one who approached them. I voted for Kip twice, but St. George was where we all got to see how crooked that little weasel really was.

ALL of the BR news outlets are shitty. Once SG started calling their witnesses, and the testimony was showing how SG could pull it off and how BR was using revenue from the unincorporated areas to pay for services exclusive to the City of BR, the press coverage died, not a peep.

Proving one more time, the press have truly become the enemy of the people.

Word around the campfire is that St. George will exist by Friday.
