I can't believe someone can be that off center. Everyone has their quirks and I can't find fault in that, but everyone is given a level of common sense

The fact that you have to ask this question, is why your gender always ends up miserable or in an abusive relationship

Those are probably the two most common characteristics most psychopaths share.

I'm not making excuses for him. Either he is a great liar or I'm gullible (which I'm not). I want to be sure that this is just not my dad on the attack because he doesn't like him.

He is charming and intelligent, which doesn't make him a psychopath. I would be surprised if the bad stuff checks out, or if there wasn't some special circumstances that caused the problems.

Call it what you want but you seem to be resisting every call to common sense and caution presented to you in this thread and by your dad.

Don't be overconfident about gullibility. That will make you vulnerable.

Your dad's opinion of him has nothing to do with the red flags you've presented here; none of which you've been able to provide mitigating circumstances for. Your dad is just throwing more gas on the fire.

Charming + Intelligent + Host of red flags ---> accumulating evidence and consistency.

If what others in this thread are true - that you are a 'trust fund' type of person, then you should be extra cautious.

I recommend you start thinking in terms of probability, not absolutes. You'll then see the probably leans heavily toward keeping your distance from him.

Experience. This can't be real. It's text book psychology. Either this is a larp or she is toast.

Yep. It's very consistent with what psychopaths do. She seems to be under his spell.
