Yes easily. If the general public knew how bloated, inefficient and incompetent the entire military is there'd be protests in the streets.
Give me the power and i could cut half the force and get much more done.
And don't get more started on veterans fraudulently claiming VA disability benefits.
The whole thing is sickening.

The entitlement by these folks are worse than the inner city folks. They had a job and they did the work, I don’t go claiming benefits after 10 years since I quit wtf

i completely disagree with you about halving the force and getting more done, but you are 100% right about fraudulent VA claims. that shite is absolutely infuriating and no politician will ever touch it.

look, lifelong VA benefits is part of the gig and it's part of why a lot of people get in and stay in. you say "entitlement by these folks" so derisively, but yes, literally, VA benefits are an entitlement that we earn based on the deal we make with the government when we sign up. so you can frick right off with a mass generalization of "these folks" implying "all veterans".
THAT SAID
fraudulent claims and milking the system by SOME veterans is a real problem that absolutely will have to be addressed sooner or later, and yes SOME veterans do have an overblown sense of entitlement.

I'd close more than half of all US bases/ports/camps, posts, etc. May close some oversees locations also.

We’ve got way too many generals and admirals.WW2 the ratio of flag officers to soldiers and sailors was 1:6,000.Now the ratio is 1:1400 last I read.
Obama purged all the patriots from the upper ranks, now all we have are a bunch of grifters whose only concern is getting a gig with the defense contractors when they retire.
They don’t give two shits about the country or the troops.
Like a bunch of peacocks strutting around with their chest full of ribbons representing the medals they hand out to each other.Looks impressive to civilians that don’t know what the deal is.

The U.S. Postal Service recorded a fiscal 2022 net profit of $56.0 billion.
Apparently lost money in 2023 tho

The military alone? No. The MIC as a whole? Perhaps.
I can tell you most fighting units run pretty lean compared to what would happen if they weren’t ready.

I'd say that or the IRS. It's as if they'd made the tax code deliberately complicated as a jobs program. Make it a flat rate across the board with no exemptions or deducts and we could gut the hell out of it.

i dont know the numbers, you obviously looked them up, but i'm with you. the post office, as infuriatingly inefficient as they can be, dont really strike me as particularly "bloated". if anything, every time i'm in there, i'm like WHY ARENT THERE FIVE MORE PEOPLE IN HERE HELPING.

The IRS should cease to exist.

And Biden finished the job culling not only flag ranks, but all ranks as well with his COVID mandate. Between Obama and Biden, they pulled off a political military purge that would have impressed Stalin himself.

I’m more concerned that you are gauging the real world based on what you saw while watching someone play a video game.
