Most Brits have a soft spot for the Vulcan bomber too
You should read how they used those during the Falklands war. Totally insane.

TU-95 is a fierce looking beast. I've seen them flying and they'll freak you out coming in.

I always liked the Corsair
But as far as intimidation nothing touches the SR-71 Blackbird.

Not my Favorite plane or anything. But a great Pic.
Caption - With its gunner visible in the back cockpit, this Japanese dive bomber, smoke streaming from the cowling, is headed for destruction in the water below after being shot down near Truk, Japanese stronghold in the Carolines, by a Navy PB4Y on July 2, 1944. Lieutenant Commander William Janeshek, pilot of the American plane, said the gunner acted as though he was about to bail out and then suddenly sat down and was still in the plane when it hit the water and exploded. #

Probably knew an instant death was better than floating in the ocean for 5 days before dying.

Dad loved flying the Grumman Tigercat (and he flew a lot of different types of planes/helicopters)

The Tigercat is a sleek and powerful looking plane.

It's sexy, but I have to go with the F14 Tomcat or the A10 Warthog.
F14 because it's beautiful.
A10 because of the beauty it holds in the eyes of those who see it coming to help them...and the sheer terror to the eyes of those looking to harm them.

As far as I know it doesn’t carry weapons. Not sure that is intimidating- very cool looking though.

It doesn’t need to, it outruns anything shot at it.
Edit: reread what you quoted and yeah I agree not intimidating per se
