Is Social Media The Biggest Threat To Society?

I was watching the social dilemma on Netflix. Social media is pretty much the reason why we live in a world where people hate each other if they have different political views. People are creating their views on bullshite information.
Anyone with the means can pay to target any demographics they want. You can make up something to get those people worked up and start a riot sitting behind your computer. That's pretty fricking dangerous.
And today, the truth is whatever the majority of the people you are around believes. No wonder there is so many god damn crazy people in the world.

I have FB and of course here. I'll admit I pay for ads on windshield business on FB and it does well. I use FB in other windshield groups to see trends, buy supplies, and sell supplies also. It's good to keep up with family in Guatemala as well. Other than that, TD is 90% of my internet history.
We watched The Social Dilemma a week or so ago and it is eye opening. I use to feel bad when I was home not letting my kids get on electronics much, but when I'm at work I know they are on them, now I don't feel so bad doing it, even though I'm "the bad guy" for always taking them away.

It’s amazing the false information your average person assumes is truth because our MSM is hot garbage.

There should be some deal where kids can't use social media until they are 18.. For the same reason there is an age restriction on alcohol,

Rapidly spreads false information.
Makes people feel bad about themselves.
Leads to divisiveness and dumb trends as people try to one up each other.
Makes every Tom Dick and Jane think they have a voice that matters.
We would be way better off monitoring or banning it all together which I realize goes against the constitution but is probably needed.
