I hate to team up with you, but it was only a matter of time before Joe showed up and said we have a spending problem. You can dispute that with him and probably review your credit card statement, but he won’t listen.

Don’t buy your morning Starbucks and invest into the market. You’ll be a millionaire in no time!

That’s a low net worth to early retire on. Does it include house equity or just liquid

We are witnessing the largest generational transfer of wealth.

Most of my friends and I make around the same. Middle of middle class. The big difference is the ones who have had parents die and pass on wealth (or grandparents in some cases).

does not = "rich"

Rich should be defined by your net worth. Your assets minus your liabilities. I'm willing to bet most of the people with high mortgage payments, car payments, spending like crazy, etc. don't have the highest net worth.

HHI and NW can correlate but not always. I know people making less than 150k HHI and have 1M+ NW's. All about saving/investing and living below your means.

"Rich" in today's society is anyone with over 5M NW, imo.

You boomers need to stop defining things by what you know. Expecting us to drive 20k used cars when cost of labor is high and repairs are asinine is a dumb take.

Telling us to live with roommates 1.5 hours from our work is a dumb take.

Saying buy a starter house for 250k in a town with 0 job prospects or very limited niche prospects is a dumb take.

No wonder why so many people on the OT are losers. They trap themselves in their mind and never think of long term.

Yes. The gain in household net worth over the past 25 years has been astonishing...leaving the likes of Europe utterly in the dust.

All the headlines about "the average household would go bankrupt if they just had a $400 car repair bill" are ridiculous and unreliable. Those are always based on "survey" data and not actual stats.

Current day America is preposterously wealthy.

The only reason this isn’t true is because they can use credit. And if they’ve already maxed their current credit, they can just go get more

No, everyone is not rich.

What you’re seeing is the middle and upper working class being priced into poverty… the destruction of the working middle class.

You will own nothing and you will like it.

It’s like AI and the education system. Math is racist. Many can’t even count change. Cursive writing is about to be extinct- therefore, those “ancient” texts (think founding documents) will be illegible. Critical thinking skills among the younger are almost extinct…. In walks AI to fill the void.

Scary as hell… “Idiocracy” predicted it all.
