I remember when you could get good deals on stuff. Now everything I look at is extremely high even with a "discount"

You’re looking in the wrong places. I just bought a $40 bra for $12.39. That’s a great deal. Bought $299 headphones for $99. Another great deal.

ETa...I've never really understood the origins of "Black Friday" anyway.

As a woman, I agree. You know, bras for my female breasts, right sister?

some places do a whole week so its quicky vanishing as any kind of special day to get deals

very very very few places still do, and those who do repeat the same deals for cyber moday.

i have a place im looking at where its set to a time schedule for the deals, the earlier you buy the better the deal.

The in-store BF deals are available online on Thursday for many places

But now it’s expanded so even in store deals are available early

well i was told, most companies are losing money and the sales they make the day after thanksgiving, are the first time their books change from red ink, to being in the black actually making money

thats my understanding of where the name comes from

After the Civil War ended, no one told the former slaves in Texas that there were discounts at stores the day after Thanksgiving. Black Friday commemorates the day that all people learned about the discounts.

It's not as good as it once was, but it's as good once as it ever was.
